Project Summary: 

A scaffold was required for construction workers to replace a supermarket roof. The supermarket had to remain open during business hours and allow shoppers to access the produce below. To guard against the elements (weather) a temporary roof was also installed, this allowed for the old roof to be removed and a new one installed without weather delays that could push the construction schedule.

Customer Challenges:

The roof of the supermarket needed to be replaced without disruption from outside elements while the supermarket remained open below. Installation of the scaffold work platform and temporary roof had to be performed during nighttime hours while the supermarket was closed. 

AT-PAC Solution:

AT-PAC designed an optimized scaffold suitable for the exterior cladding to support the temporary roof and a large walking/ working platform inside the supermarket. Ringlock was utilized with large span aluminium trusses to create the internal platform supported by Ringlock support towers.

Impact:

The AT-PAC modular Ringlock System Scaffold is ideal for buildings with protrusions & depressions, Side Brackets can be utilized to extend the working area no matter the shape of the building. The versatility of the AT-PAC Ringlock System Scaffold was instrumental in achieving the desired configuration which allowed the entire building to be enveloped in scaffolding at one time. The modular manner of the Ringlock system allowed working platforms to be designed to create enough space for each trade to keep their respective working distance of the wall which. Thus, driving the overall schedule forward for the project versus the the standard “mason goes first” approach taken on most jobs of this nature. Additionally, on-time deliveries, Product User Guides and Technical Support by AT-PAC prevented downtime during the erection process with 24/7 support when needed.
