Project Summary: 

AT-PAC continues to provide complete scaffolding solutions worldwide. Since the beginning of March of 2018, the construction of six water storage tanks in Santiago has been underway. Our client was in need of a suspended scaffolding structure that would withstand vibration. Scaffold structures were also needed for the installment of water elevators and the assembly of pipes up to 3m in diameter. AT-PAC had the solution to each obstacle encountered during this project. At 40m deep, this project can hold and supply 1,500,000 cubic meters of water within 36 hours to the residents in Santiago.

Customer Challenges:

Due to the excavation process occurring simultaneously as the erection of the scaffold, a suspended scaffold structure was necessary. The structure had to be free of vibrations to ensure a safe working environment for all parties involved.

AT-PAC Solution:

• Access ladders were constructed to provide excavation workers with an easy and safe course to the base of the shafts
• Steel and aluminum scaffolding were utilized in the suspended scaffold to ensure weight was not an issue
• Scaffold towers and facades were implemented in the construction of the water elevators and pipe installation

Impact:

• As the excavation was carried out, AT-PAC’s Ringlock system allowed for immediate assembly of the suspended access ladders keeping the project on schedule.
• In addition to the supply of equipment, full technical assistance was provided. The engineering design of each scaffold was provided by AT-PAC to ensure the structures maintained industry standards.
• Training courses and weekly supervision were provided by AT-PAC to maintain a safe working environment and that the scaffold was erected properly. This supervision ensured that the quality of work was upheld and the project progressed in a timely manner.
